Da Nang city tour

While most tourists neglect Vietnam’s fourth-largest city in favour of nearby Hue and Hoi An, Da Nang has considerable charm in its own right. The economic powerhouse of central Vietnam, it combines the buzz of a bigger city with beautiful beaches and great restaurants. A lot of money has recently been poured into tree-lined boulevards, bridges, beautiful beachside resorts and glittering shops.

ITINERARY

Depart from cruise ship in Tien Sa port, drive about 40mins to sightseeing Da Nang city - considered to be the commercial center of the middle part of Vietnam.
Stop at the Cham Museum built by the French and used as the Ecole Francaise dExtreme Orient in 1915. This charming but rather primitive museum has an extensive collection of sculptures and history of the Cham people and a unique collection of Cham artifacts. The exhibits depict four different periods: My Son, Tra Kieu, Dong Duong and Thap Mam. Most of the Buddhist and Hiduist statures are in sand stone which has existed for centuries.

Leave the town for the Marble mountain village that used to be the American marine base. The mountain has 5 mounts, namely: Metal, Wood, Water, Fire and Earth. A lot of stone handcrafts are for sale. Bargaining is a must for a good price if you want to shop for stone statues.

Last stop today is the Han market, a popular place for most locals to buy daily necessities. The market is full of local products. It is nice to walk once around the vivid market. Go across the street to the XQ embroidery workshop where you can see the Vietnamese girls working hard on a lot of beautiful embroidered pieces. These are masters of art so they are expensive but of course worth for its expense.

Drive back your cruise ship after nearly 4hours explore the city.
